23/10/2006 - Web Developer required

Background:

We require a Web Developer that can join us immediately and hit the ground running, you must have very strong experience with PHP/MySQL, HTML, CSS and Photoshop, with a minimum of 2 years in both skill sets. You must have hands on experience in web development and working on web sites particularly coding up the designs into cross browser accessible HTML and CSS code.

You will be comfortable creating CMS applications from scratch as well as other features and enhancements to existing client sites.

We have a mixture of corporate and non corporate clients that will require your input.

This role is for someone who is really keen and passionate about emerging technologies and bringing their accessibility knowledge to the job.

Location

London (Putney Bridge SW6)

Occasional work on client site.

Key Skills:

PHP/MySql - you must know your PHP inside out and be comfortable working with existing CMS and also writing new ones with components such as Xstandard.

(X)HTML - Table-less designs using DIVS, semantic markup.

CSS - Conditional comments, Cross browser designs that work on Mac and PC, use of floats and relative positioning. Accessibility - You need a very strong awareness of the W3C guidelines and are able to implement them into your code. Use of online Validators such as the W3C validator to check code is something you have been doing on a daily basis. You need to have working knowledge of the WCAG 1.0 and awareness of PAS78 .

JavaScript - Using JavaScript for Dom scripting that works cross browser and is not IE specific and will degrade in browsers when JavaScript is disabled.

Photoshop - Turn a PSD into quality accessible HTML and PHP code.

Usability - good understanding of what makes a web site usable including simple techniques such as wire framing.

Other skills:

Must be comfortable liaising with clients on the phone and face to face in meetings.

Clear written communication.

Outlook, Excel, Word

Good time management and ability to work on your own or as part of a larger group.

A can do attitude is very important and a willingness to learn on the job.
