Who should attend?
This one day course is designed for people who already know a good degree of HTML and CSS and want to know how to make their web site more compliant and their coding approaches more semantic. This is not for the beginner. This typically includes:
- Web developers
- User interface designers
- HTML and CSS coders
You may work for an agency, a corporate firm, a local council, or anyone that is keen on driving accessibility forwards in their business.
What will I achieve?
On successful completion of this course, participants will:
- Learn how to produce layouts that do not require tables
- Have an awareness of cross browser coding techniques including conditional comments, and box model
- Mark up navigation as lists, for primary, sub and footer navigation
- Implement a best practice cookie trail
- Confident marking up their address in semantic code
- Browser CSS Support: IE6/IE7, IE5 for Mac, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, Opera, and more
- Browser-specific CSS, Modular Stylesheets and Conditional Style Sheets
- Working with DOC TYPE: Standards Mode and the Standard Box Model
- The W3C Standard Box Model
- Standards Vs IE Float Models
- Scalable layouts using ems
Course content
This one day course provides delegates with practical examples, comprehensive notes, guidelines and sources of reference.
The course can be tailored to meet the needs of your team and your organisation, but typical course content includes:

Pre-requisites
You must be familiar with using HTML tags and knowledge of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Web Standards to an advanced level. You should be comfortable coding a website in notepad and not rely on visual editors to code. Ideally you will have worked on large public facing or intranet sites in your career.
Pricing
The maximum number of participants at our central london training facility is 8 per course and prices are £295 + VAT per head.
The course includes lunch and refreshments, and we fully cater for vegetarians or special dietary requirements (please mention this when booking your place).
